Hi there
I am currently a volunteer at a Wellbeing Centre which allows me to practise my skills until I can get a job. Although at the grand old age of 43 I am not holding out much hope. I have a VTCT level 3 in both Swedish Massage and Indian Head, Reiki Level One and Hot Stones Certificate. I recently went for an interview at a high end salon in my area and was told that my massage wasn't up to their standards and am currently suffering for a dent to my confidence. I have been volunteering for nearly a year and although I am only there one day a week that day is always full and I have built up quite a loyal clientele. I went to have a massage after it so I could see where I might have gone wrong. Now the massage I received last 55 minutes and didn't cover the chest, the face and the neck when lying supine. I on the other hand tried to fit in everything, I didn't manage it in the hour I ran ten minutes over. I have never worked in a salon so I don't know etiquette only what I was taught in my course. In trying to fit in too much am I sacrificing quality? Is it better to just do the basics and any problem areas and not worry if you miss out on the face etc. HELP I know I am rambling any comments welcome
