help need advice about massage courses

Please help i really want to be a professional massage and I dont know where to start looking or what to look for. If anyone knows evening massage courses that will help me lot and any information will do. I've realised I just want to work in massage therapy and I need to study courses about massage. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

There are usually evening classes at your local adult education establishment, these tend to be itec classes with lots of anatomy and physiology and you should be shown to do a full body massage at some point during the course.

There are more specialise training courses around but they tend to be taught over weekends with the bulk of the anatomy and physiology learned at home in between the hands on practical weekends.

The specialist courses will inevitable cost a lot more than the adult education ones as they tend to run into the four figure bracket, it depends on what you want to learn and how you wish to work after you have qualified.

You might find it helpful to get yourself a few massages with different therapists who utilise different forms of massage and see which type appeals to you and ask them about their training etc.

Hi and welcome. Where are you in the uk ? If you are in London i can let you know the details of the colleges that offer the MTI diploma,they are also some outside fo london so let me know where you are.
Like Paul said there are many courses to choose from and at various prices and lengths.
Personally i think anything shorter than a 'school'year is a bit too much to cram in, go for a course that feels right in terms of the massage they teach, you may want a more beauty oreintated course, or more clinical,or general.
Have a look at what available at your local adult ed colleges and go from there as those tend to be better value for money.You needd to do a course that contains he anatomy and physiology also and that the diploma is a recognised one that means you can get insurance to practice.
