help......job interview

Hi

I'm after some advice.

I am a recently ITEC qualified Holistic Massage Therapist and use only base oils, but I have a job interview tomorrow (16th) whereby I have to give someone a massage. It is in a mini spa which is located in a hotel complex, the products they use is ESPA. I have looked up EPA's products and have found that they are all pre-blended oils but they contain essential oils. As far as I am aware I though that I could only use base oils as per my insurance as I will do when self employed.

But also, I have been told whilst on my course that I can use an oil that has essential oils in providing that it has been provided by the client.

Therefore as this position is an employed basis, and presumably the client would choose the particular oil to use.....or is this covered under the employers insurance? would I be able to use these oils?

Help....I could really do with some clarification.

i am sure you are fine with pre blended oils... they probably arent potent anyway!

i used to work somewhere that offered aromatherapy massage for £10 more than the ordinary massage and all we used was the dermatologica pre blends... poor client... just ask, what do you want... stress buster or toxin release! hardly aromatherapy!

Surey they must offer some basic in-house training on the products they use?

Thanks for your advice....interview went fine. Although I was a bit taken aback when she told me what the salary was £5.00 - £5.50 per hour and that was at the weekend.

Is that a low salary for an employed Massage Therapist?

Seems a little unfair considering they are charging the client around somewhat like £60!

Think I might persue the self-employed route.
