Hello all, need advice on massage couch!

Hello people,

I'm new to the forum and would value some advice. I am currently moving premises as my holistic therapies business has rather unexpectedly and excitingly expanded! Some of my clients don't want to move and are asking for me to come to their houses - something I used to do with my big heavy couch. I can't lug that great hefty thing around anymore so was just wondering if anyone had recommendations for a cheap but long-lasting portable couch. I borrowed a friend's couch and it squeaked horribly, so I want one that is lightweight and yet sturdy. Also affordable. Demanding, me?!!!

Any advice gratefully received.

Hi,

I got mine from Evergreen. Very good but like all couches it is heavy.
At the moment they are still doing free carry case, head cradle & arm rest.
Very good delivery service. When I ordered mine which was after 4.00 I got it the next day

Hi I just got a great couch from ebay, it works up to 30stone and is extra wide, comes with arm rests head rest sling and carry bag. Its about 15kg to carry so not too bad I carry it around on the bus!! Its from health lite so look up there page on ebay. They are brand new couches not second hand. They have a 'buy it now' shop and they cost about 100 quid plus 20 quid pp but I waited and managed to get mine for 31 auction price and 20 pp. The only thing that I don't like is that it doesn't sit up but for 50 qiud who cares!!!

mine is 11kg and is sooo much lighter than my old one which is essential as I am a mobile therapist

it is light enough to actually have on my shoulder with a handy grab handle on the side as well

it is also a lot wider than my old one

i got a brilliant one from costco,,,,,cost me £116 quid inc vat.its really lightweight....the material is almost like memory foam.......it is wide and long(sorry no dimensions but bigger than my last one!).it comes with a face rest that is stored inside when not in use and an arm rest that attatches to this.it is adjustable in height also and comes with a carry case with various pockets.my clients (some of whom i have had for many years) all comment on how comfortable it is.

After six years of practising, I've just invested in a Starlight Aerotech.

At 6kg, it's just about the lightest couch you can get. My original couch, a Darley, although meant to be portable, is more than twice the weight and I've now got chronic tedonitis from lifting it into my car, so I knew I had to invest in the Starlight (which was £700 including adjustable headrest and carry case) or give up doing home visits.

As all my home visits are to clients who are housebound for one reason or other - many of them cancer patients, I decided to get the Starlight and I am thrilled with it.

It also means that my Darley stays in my room all the time.

There is a standard advise for massage: "Massage table should be stable, with warm soft covering. If you use a couch or a bed, use as tender and expensive sheets as you can afford."
