hi everyone!
i've been researching hellerwork for the last month and i've really come to feel that receiving the series would make a world of difference for me.
however, it's quite expensive, and since i'm already a super-broke MT student, i want to get all the information/feedback possible before i invest.
i spend a lot of time on the official hellerwork website, and it sounds amazing, as does the practitioner i am thinking of seeing. i have been in a serious research mode! i am also trying to find opinions/experiences without the bias of being on hellerwork-specific websites, but those are a bit lacking. i've asked a couple of teachers at my school, and they were not familiar with the modality - rolfing, yes - but not hellerwork specifically.
i've read Texas-gal's and Blisss's informative posts (thank you!) on their rolfing series, so that helps to give me a base understanding of the physical manipulations, but i'm still curious about the additions in hellerwork that separate it from rolfing. how is the emotional release addressed and explored? what is the movement education like? what can i expect from the series as a whole?
i may be overpreparing, but i just feel like i need a little more knowledge before i go in for a consultation. me, a control freak? noooo.
well, thanks for any feedback!
