Heart Murmur and Massage

I've had 2 clients tell me that they have a heart murmur and that they're not on any medication for it and it's ok. What exactly is a heart murmur and what's the best way to handle it?

I realise this is a circulatory problem and it would be contraindicated but what do you do if your client says it's ok?

It could be an 'innocent' murmur - I have had one for years and it causes no problems. I have never been told it is a contraindication to any treatment - or living!

How many different types of murmur are there and how does the client know which they've got?

Try googling 'heart murmur' - there is alot of information on the internet. Some people (myself included) can go undiagnosed for years. Their doctor will be able to tell which form their murmur takes, and what treatments are required.
