Head pain during neck/shoulder massage.?

When I get the area right between my shoulders and neck massaged I can fill a tingly pain rush to my head, similar to the pain of a headache on each massage. Does anyone know why this happens. When I tell people, they say I'm not suppose to feel any pain in my head during a shoulder massage. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
