Has anyone had a massage before? Just wondering what to expect...?

I have a gift card to get one for 1 hour. My basic questions are, what do you do when you get in there? Are you suppose to talk? Do you leave a tip after all is over? Also I am a guy and I feel uncomfortable having a guy give me a massage. Is it weird to have a girl massage you? Any other things to expect please let me know.

When you make your appointment, you can request guy or girl. Most people have a preference so this won't be insulting or weird to request. They will lead you to the room and instruct you to undress. (usually you will undress to your boxers) and then lay down and drape a towel over you. You do not need to talk at all, but they will ask if there is a certain part of your body you want them to focus on. If you have neck pain or back pain or somewhere you want them to focus, tell them. They will then ask you if the pressure is too much or too little. don't be nervous to answer them. If you want it deeper, say it. They want you to be comfortable. As for tip, in a lot of the rooms there is a little bowl or whatnot to leave a tip in after they leave while you are getting dressed. I leave the same that i would for a hairdresser or any other service. If there isn't a tip bowl or anything, ask at the front desk or just hand it directly to the person. I think that about covers it!
