hand massage

hi, i have been asked to do some sessions of hand massages at a local event, which is great.
but i was wondering if any one can give me some advise as what to put in a small consultation form?
i have other consultation forms for reflexology and aromatherapy ect but are way to long, so any advise would be great.

Id ask all the main illnesses, eg high blood pressure etc and any allergies and check if theya re on any medications and go with that

do check for osteoporosis especially if clients are older agegroup

Next time I meet someone I shall ask them to fill in a consultation form and a disclaimer before I dare to shake hands with them.

Luke, it all depends what kind of massage you're going to do, doesn't it? When I was learning pregnancy massage, we were taught not to do acupressure on certain points of the body, one being on the hand. You can still do a normal hand massage though of course.

just cover the important contraindications, I honestly think that the way Itec and other training bodies go on about contraindications can be scary and makes people a bit anal when it comes to giving a treatment, I also think this can take alot of enjoyment out giving treatments. Yes, common sense does prevail, but IMO I don't think it's going to make the body do anything it doesn't want to do already, its a hand massage, please don't take offence, but, didn't you cover all this when you trained? you should have more confidence in yourself, I'm sure you'll do just fine.

thats o.k i have not taken offence, like you said it's just a conffidence thing with me, i did it all in my training i just need to have more confidence in myself i am sure i will be fine, thanks for all your advise.
