Good relaxation massage therapist

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a good relaxation & deep tissue massage therapist in west yorkshire? After having my baby and going through the whole difficult pregnancy and traumatic birth, i feel i need a good massage, just to be kind to my body and unwind.

I've looked at a few websites, but it's so hard to just trust someone and after my poor body has been through so much, i don't want to take a chance on someone just causing me more problems.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

If I lived nearer, I would offer you my services, Nisha. Make sure that you have had the all clear from your doctor/health visitor before going for a massage, just to make sure your body is returning to normal.

After the birth of my daughter, I felt like I'd been in a boxing ring!! I was nervous for at least a month afterwards, worried that the slightest knock would do me more damage!! However, your body does eventually repair itself, and you'll be good as new in no time.

P.S a massage is a wonderful way to get you feeling better. I hope you find a good therapist in your area soon.

Whereabouts in West Yorkshire are you? I know a fantastic therapist who is not in WYorks but you can get to her by car in about 35 minutes from Huddersfield if you don't mind a bit of cross country driving. I also know of a couple more in Sheffield which might not be too far, depending on where you are and how far you want to drive.

Of course, there are bound to be several good therapists in W.Yorks, maybe ask around people you know as well as on HP. Check and see if you have a local forum for your area, there's a really populated one in Sheffield where people ask local questions like this all the time and get a huge response.

Hi everyone,

I live in Dewsbury, about 30 mins from Sheffield. I need a therapist who has experience in treating women who have gone through caesarean sections and who have SPD. I cannot lie on my back for very long and i find lying flat on a massage couch can be agony as the SPD hasn't yet cleared up completely. I also suspect that I have a few issue maybe with my sciatic nerve on the right side as this was where my baby was lying throughout my pregnancy.

I've had my 6wk check-up and my GP has given me the all clear, so i'm sure i would be fine to have a massage.

I knwo that i will need a few sessions to sort things out, so it would be easier to have someone as near to where i live as possible, but if it means finding someone whom i can trust and i have to travel, then i will.
