Good Quality Tunic for a reasonable price?

Hi

I've found a few online with a range of prices. Obviously, this variation may or may not be reflected in the quality.

I'd like a white one, preferably without the patch pockets.

So if anyone can recommend a particular make/supplier. I've done a search here and there was one post where the tunics were of disappointing quality, in the opinion of the poster.

I'm 6'5" and reasonably well built, if that may make a difference to the recommendation. How are tunics for oil stains? Am I better off with poly-cotton or is 100% cotton better?

I cannot complain about mine its 100% polyester and is from Simon Jersey, cost £14.95. Its cool in Summer, however the only problem about the tunics is that they are not lined, hence the price.

I hate 100% polyester, I am 5' 8" and a size 16 but I find that these uniforms are just too hot in summer. Of course all the pretty colours and designs are in polyester! However I also found Simon Jersey and they do some very nice polycotton tunics and trousers. I have just had a look in their catalogue (you get one after your first order) and they have some very reasonable white mens tunics at about £14.95 for polyester and £19.95 for polycotton. Of course the dreaded VAT has to be added. Take a look online first and see what you think.

Basically the more cotton in it, the easier it is to clean.

You'll find that there's virtually no choice for men; if you want short sleeves (which you will) you'll have to put up with a dentist's jacket style or surgical scrubs style - because that's all anyone does, and it doesn't mater which supplier you go to. If you're prepared to put up with long sleeves, or are good enough at sewing to shorten them without looking crap, then you can get a decent normal jacket style that you can wear a t-shirt/shirt&tie underneath - these tend to be restrictive across the shoulders for doing manual type work and are more designed for Dr who do 95% of their work from the desk.

Found this one. Which looks nice. 100 polyester though. The alternative is the institutes own polo shirt, which isn't very good, especially for the price. Beats me, you are allowed to wear a polo shirt if it has the institutes logo on it or a tunic and that is mandatory.
