Good music for massage please?

Hey all

I'd like to get together some music for massage/relaxation and wondered if anyone had suggestions?

I don't want anything with human voices in, just musical and I suppose non-stop is best, or not?

Any tracks or CD's anyone can recommend would be great. Am getting bored of Enya!!

Try New World Music http://www.newworldmusic.co.uk or Dawn Awakening http://www.dawnawakening.co.uk (they do some music that is licence free). Did you know that you were supposed to have a licence to play music? I found out from my tutor (I wonder how many people have a licence!). Also Enya music is very nice.

If you can't find the Dawn Awakening site just type it in the search engine.

Really? A licence for music, that sounds crazy! I know pubs need one, so perhaps its the same for any type of business?

Hello!! I use a great CD called "the most relaxing classical album in the world.......ever!"
It is a double CD, and is non stop - great for relaxing massages!

I didn't know that you needed a license either...........oops!

Also try MArks and Sparks - don't laugh - they have a range of really good CD's at the moment - music from the angels, music for sleep, music for motivation, music for whatever you care to think about really and they are only £8.00 each - very good value if you ask me. I have a few of them and people always ask me what they are and who they are by.

yep you should have a licence for background music....dont know many people with one though! Have to agree M&S are great, they do lovely ones from tranquility and spa collections...also Fridrick Karlsoon is very good.

Wow - never heard of that - thats a bit crazy isn't it - what does the license allow/not allow?

Licence for music

I found this out when I was looking at the small business setup web. I was searching for various rules and regulations about beauty and nail treatments. I think it may have come under the local council rules and regs.

You actually need two licences regardless of where you are working if you are playing background music you need them...

The performing rights society which is a PRS licence and also you may need a PPL licence if ever you do tasters or stuff out and about with music...

The above three are by the fantastic Llewllyn. Tim Wheater ( http://www.timwheater.com/ ) also does some fantastic CD's, but with some of his CDs you may want to skip a track or two, i found the music doesn't quite flow as well as I would want definately a good choice for putting together your own compilation from his work.

For some cheaper CD's, Levantis ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index=music&field-artist=Levantis/ ) have a nice collection.

If you go into HMV, Virgin or your preferred local music store there are plenty of fantastic classical compilations that work really well for massages. Or for something a bit more modern I have found Simplicity 2000 by Afterlife ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004YU2R/ ) very nice, and also some of the Ministry of Sound Chillout collections.

In the Simplicity 2000 vein - Zero 7 is another option - Or any of the Cafe del Mar CDs

Also the Buddha Bar CDs - quite good as the words are often in french so there is no distraction even if singing etc
