long run........? in Jan i am going to school for massage therapy. In the long run tho i want to do something bigger and better. There's so many different things i would love to do.

Nursing
US Tech
Radiologist Tech

What do u think the best option would be

Do any of the others, but you'll probably be wasting your time with massage.

Sunshine and Dave are dead on. Keep in mind massagegeek sells e-books and web advertising. I was a massage practitioner/business owner and just quit last month. It didn't compensate enough for the hassle, I hurt all the time, and mental/emotional burnout was a constant struggle.

My first career choice was physician. I completed pre-med and a semester of med school and worked as a medical assistant/x-ray tech during that time. I REALLY screwed up by not finishing!

Radiologist or US tech is the best. You do NOT have to deal with body fluids most of the time. I cleaned up more spunk as an LMP than all body fluids combined in X-Ray. Hospital nurses clean poop all day, but medical office work is fun and rewarding.

Check out physical therapy and occupational therapy assistant as well. Massage training would be very applicable for that career path.

I say save your money and go to college and get a REAL degree. I went to school for massage, aced my exams, got lisensed, and couldn't find a job (that paid what I deserved to make!) in this highly competitive field. Many health problems later, I wasn't able to afford all the Continuing Education credits needed to stay current, and my lisense has lapsed. And, I still owe over $5K in student loans.

In a dream world, money doesn't matter when you are doing something you love, but $6K + is a lot of money to spend on something that you might not be doing 3 years from now. I would definitely think long and hard about committing yourself financially to such a risky profession.
