Hi all, just a quickie to say I'm thinking of taking the leap from practicing on friends to renting a therapy room & just wondered if any of you had any helpful tips re: cheap insurance? Also, do I definitely need to have a first aid certificate before I start? Thank you.

I don't think there is any such thing as 'cheap insurance.' You have to pay for it and they are all much of a muchness and you will need it.

As for first aid, it isn't compulsory and we don't ask our therapists for it, but you can do cheap courses in that if you have to (some might want it).

We have discussed renting rooms etc before and if you look back on the threads you will find stuff on it, but if you want to know more then you can pm me as I run my own clinic and rent out rooms to therapists.

Thanks - am beginning to realise you get what you pay for! Was quite surprised with the IGPP though - it's v good in terms of newsletter/marketing stuff etc but the personal accident cover is only £5,000! I was hoping to hear if any therapists could recommend their insurance companies/policies. Good news about the 1st Aid certificate as I can't get on a course until May. Thanks for the reply.
