Eucalyptus advice?

Hiya all,

I have a query for aromatherapy if anyone can help.

I know that normally Eucalyptus is used with a client suffering from brontchitis and that it should not be used with Homeopathic remedies. My question is are there any more issues when this oil should not be applied?

I get the feeling that there may be another precuation that I am missing somewhere along the line but I am really not sure.

Hope someone can help and hope everyone is doing really well. Sorry have not been around but had issues with my recovery.

Hello,

I am no qualified homeopath, but it is th eforst time I hear eucalyptus as contra-indicated for it. The ones I have heard of are mint and cinamon. But I know that some homeopaths recomend to avoid "anything that is really strong", so I guess that would include eucalyptus?...

I am no expert on oils but have used eucalyptus with great effect as a painkiller on the spine.

There are many different types of Eucalyptus used in Aromatherapy and some are more beneficial for different conditions than others. For instance, I would not use Eucalyptus Globulus or Citrodora on a child, but Eucalyptus Radiata is much more gentle and suitable. Which Eucalyptus are you researching?

There was a topic posted a while ago with loads of different aromatherapy sites for studying. It might come up if you try a search. It wasn't long after the site changed.

I agree with Taz. Radiatia is more gentle and suitable for children, the infirm etc. I was also taught not to use Eucalyptus with homeopathic remedies, this is correct.
