Energy Work and Massage
Jin Shin Jyutsu vs the other "Jin Shin" methods you mentioned was discussed at length in the Energy Work section under the previous post titled Jin Shin Jyutsu.
That said, Jin Shin Jyutsu is the original version of this healing art, as it was taught by Master Jiro Murai, in Japan, to a very limited number of students. One of them, Mary Burmeister was his student of many years, and was responsible for bringing it back to the USA in the 1950's. She worked from her notes for over 17 years before sharing it with others, and carried on a long term mentoring/consultation with her teacher until his death. Mary finally began teaching others & putting together what are now our textbooks, after many years of self-study. Following an injury which forced her to stop teaching, a select group of her students were authorized to continue sharing her work. (There are currantly 22 Jin Shin Jyutsu instructors worldwide.) You can find out more of the history of this ancient art at http://www.jsjinc.net
Books on Jin Shin Jyutsu:
The Touch of Healing - by Alice Burmeister - This the main layperson JSJ self-help book, which also explains a great deal, while providing a large number of simple techniques for working with a wide variety of health "projects" as we practitioners call illnesses, injuries or conditions.
JIN SHIN JYUTSU FOR YOUR ANIMAL COMPANION - by Adele Leas - This book has charts for cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs and birds, showing all the
"safety energy locks" used in Jin Shin Jyutsu, along with specific methods for holding the hands/fingertips on a series of points to facilitate healing.
A TOUCHING GOOD-BYE - by Judith B. Andry -
The Gentle Use of Jin Shin Jyutsu At Times of Critical Illness and Death.
There are also 2 or 3 other books which have been written in German, & hopefully will be translated into English in the future.
The other versions you mention are all essentially unauthorized knock off versions, as adapted by others.
