Do i need to do the Swedish massage VTCT before the Sports massage VTCT?

I found out today that they are not running a swedish massage VTCT course in January at Bognor Regis . I am desperate to start a Sports massage course next September. I dont feel as though i can wait for next september to start the Swedish massage course and then a year later for the sports massage course. Im 36 and have changed careers. I qualified as a gym instructor last year and also got a distinction in my Level 3 BTEC sports and coaching and am trying to get as much all round experience as possible. I live in west sussex and suffice to say cant afford the courses that are about £1000. Does anybody have any ideas ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As long as the college are prepared to accept you then you CAN do the sports massage course without doing Swedish first. I would caution you though. When I did the VTCT Sports Massage course pretty much everyone ( including me) had previously done Swedish but all of us found it difficult - there is quite a big step up in knowledge required even though both are level 3.

If possible, try to find some Swedish massage training, whether weekends or short course.

When all is said and done, prepare as much as you can, prepare to work hard and go for it!!!!!
