Dirty feet! :)

Right, I have two questions about feet really...
First of all, do you wash/wipe the clients feet before massaging them (even if they look pretty clean)?
And, after massaging the feet, do you wipe your hands (if so, what with - I use alcohol gel at the moment...) before moving on to other areas (especially the face!!).

OK, I'm not a massage therapist but I would be quite concerned about the use of an alcohol gel on your hands as I have sensitive skin as well as being diagnosed with Rosacea (which has since gone).

Oh that's a good point!!
I'm getting very soon some non-alcohol based wipes - just waiting for the delivery.

Having said that, I make sure the alcohol evaporates before I touch the person again, so it's probably ok?

I always wipe the persons feet first with a wet wipe just to remove any bits of sock fluff mainly or dirt off their floor before dressing at their home etc......

I use anti bac wipes, and wash my hands properly, then begin the massage always wash my hands before I do the face too.

I have used witch hazel and cotton wool pads to clean the feet, works well each time. You could also use, lavender or rose water and cotton wool or I have a friend who uses wipes from superdrug containing tee tree. I think you have to wash the feet before you massage them. You must always wash your hands after the feet and always before moving to the face. Try different things and get feedback from your clients. Wet wipes are the most convenient for home visits.

Yes I sometimes do just use baby wipes.
