Different name besides Massage Therapist

Do any of you call yourselves Neuromuscular Therapists? I think is sounds sooo much better than Massage Therapists. I guess i feel that way because around here...there are still spa "massage" places that are only open from 8pm-8am and cater to the truck drivers on the interstate with billboards.
Do you think that the term Neuromuscular Therapist sounds too pretentious?

A neuromuscular therapist is a massage therapist with training and certification in neuromuscular therapy. Without that, we can't just call ourselves NMTs. It is a fairly well-known technique that is definitely respected.

I call myself a Licensed Massage Therapist, Medical and Pain Relief Specialist.

A client of mine had a previous MT that called themselves an NMT, and I honestly wonder how much training he had in NMT in order to call himself that. I also wish there was a directory somewhere :idea: that would give the information on where these people went to school...

Manual Therapist, or depending on your education/skill, manipulative therapist.

I have the title of "Massage Therapist & Spa Specialist".. I teach a lot of spa classes and am the lead MT in my spa.

The only way to get rid of those 'parlour' places is to report them.
