difference between say Indian Head Massage and on site massage

Hi, is there much difference between Indian Head massage and on site massage? I have been approached by a company to see if i would do onsite massage either for the office workers at their desk or in a seperate room. For IHM I do upper back, shoulders, arms, neck scalp and face. How do you alter for onsite massage (seated chair massage) (may I also add that at present I only work from home as I don't drive, but can of course get to the place via taxi or a friend could drop me off). If the workers are coming into a room do you use a special kind of chair, in the treatment roomI have a chair suitable for IHM.

Also how do you work out your charges and what equipment would you take with you (for example if you are working in a room some relaxation music, but of course this wouldn't be approriate if at someone's desk in an open plan office)

Both types of massage are ideal for office visits. But there are fundamental differences in each approach. Since you do IHM I won't mention that side of things. On-site massage is basically a hacked down oriental/acupressure bodywork routine developed for office visits with the use of an on-site massage chair. There is a greater emphasis on back and shoulder massage with arms and hands worked as well. Another difference over IHM is that OSM uses elbow techniques.

You can very easily integrate IHM and OSM together and develop an overall better treatment system. Also you can Reiki the whole back at the end, but first make sure the client is OK about that!! Why not do a short OSM course? The timings and routine may benefit you. Also the tutor should be able to advise you with the best way to introduce the techniques to the workplace.

I can't say anymore than that as I don't do office on-site massage, even though I'm qualified to do so. Not much industry/large org's down here in Pixieland

the main difference is the chair, with IHM you can use a normal chair with OS you use a chair or head attachment so that the client is leaning forward.

IHM has a lot of effleurage and petrissage in it.

OS has a lot more acupressure movements and works the whole back.

As RP suggests, its worth getting yourself on a course.

As above... also most indian head courses teach it with the use of oils on skin, however with an onsite massage course or a seated thai massage course it is taught using no oils and directly onto the client through clothing. The two are very different. Why not book one with a local therapist and try them yourself first xx
