So I started going to this clinic that does massage/chiropractics/acupuncture. The first massage I had was fantastic, it was deep tissue and even painful but man did I feel good after it. Then I went back today, this being a gap of 2 weeks, and they gave me someone else. First off, I think the woman who answered my call earlier this week to make the appointment was the same woman who gave me my massage today.
Anyway, this had to have been the worst massage I've ever had. At first she just kept messing with my hair and didn't even use any oil for the first ten minutes, finally putting lotion on. The room was rather cold actually but I digress. My main concern is the actual massage. To me it felt like I paid 70 bucks to be thoroughly rubbed for an hour. She would ask me if she was applying too much pressure and I my thought was "You're applying pressure?" And I specifically asked her to work on my shoulders, particularly the right shoulder blade and she literally glazed over it. Instead of kneading the muscles she would pluck at my shoulders which I thought was weird. I was about to scream because I could feel her rubbing her hands over my sore spots and keep expecting her to actually massage them but it never happened. I'm pissed that I had to still pay all that money but I do have an appointment next week with the woman who I originally had. My question is, what is the experience of a swedish massage like? Is it that light and gentle? Because that was ridiculous.
