Demos and talks

Hi all,

Having read in various places that a good way to promote yourself is to give demo/talks to groups such as WI etc. I was just wondering how beneficial you would say doing this can be.

Also, is anyone willing to impart a few tips on how to structure such a demo/talk (or call it what you will!)
