Custom CraftWorks Table

I am a massage student still looking for a good quality table. I wanted to get a package deal because I also want a massage chair, although it is not required. I found a deal on the Custom CraftWorks Herieforum.xxxe table at MassageWarehouse. It looks good and has many of the things I was looking for in a massage table/chair package.
However, like before, I can not seem to find any customer reviews on this table.

It looks like a fairly heavy table and it is 30" wide. I don't particularly like the arm rest being attached to the face cradle, but that is a personal preference.

Personally, I'd lean toward a 28" table, esp. if you are planning on using this table as your mobile massage table. But, you can better guage that, by measuring what you have at school (lifting them) and seeing what you work best on. I am 5' 1"-ish. So, I use a less wide table and add egg crate to it, to allow the clients arms a good fit, but to stillgive flexibility to the top so I can get in close to the client if I need to while working cross body (for example). A 28" with egg crate still gives me enough flexibility to climb up on the table if I need to, as well.

However, Custome Craftworks makes good tables from what I've been told, so I don't think you'll go wrong with the brand.

I'm by no means an expert but I think the 35 lb. weight of the table is pretty much standard. It does seem a bit wide though to lug around especially for a mobile business... But to be honest it's a pretty good deal for less than 500 for everything you get. I also am not a fan of the armrests, especially when I'm working triceps. I just prefer letting their hands hang on the sides. Then again, you might be able to take that part off or replace the headrest with another CCW rest without the armrests.

Overall I'd say that's a pretty good deal, considering all you get with it, I'll probably look into something similar if not the exact same deal when I graduate.

35lbs is common for inexpensive tables. Frequently what you are paying for is reduced weight, not necessarily better quality. The weight quoted is usually the table minus the headrest and carrying case. So you can add 5lbs to pretty much any weight you see quoted. Then add your sheets and supplies and you are easily toting around 45-50lbs.

So do you actually plan to be fairly mobile with this table? Usually students aren't even sure what they want or need yet. Buying a chair right now might be premature. You can easily find a good deal on a chair later when you know if you'll use it or not.

My favorite table of all time that balances weight/quality/price is the Earthlite Spirit. 30lbs, nice looking, very sturdy (5 students can sit on one for a lecture with no squeaks!) It can easily be your at home table, but still go mobile when needed. I know 5lbs doesn't sound like much, but when you're carrying it up a flight of stairs slung over your shoulder, it is significant.

Agreed. I think they are in the 27 lb. mark at some companies. Maybe the OP could call CCW and ask if they have any lighter table options (if the OP plans on doing mobile).

Personally, I suggest new therapists plan to purcase as if they were mobile, unless they have something lined up. This way they are much more flexible with their gear. A mobile table can hold up just fine in a permanent office, until you are ready to purchase a heavier-duty one.

So the table I would choose from them as above would weigh 27lbs with the headrest and extra foam and cost about $600. I loved that table! I will say it didn't feel as sturdy as the heavier solid wood tables, but I never had a problem with it creaking or anything and I did outcalls in a hotel that had no elevator!
