couch face holes

Hi everyone

I wondered if anyone out there can help me with my decision on buying a massage couch. I've spent hours trawling the web trying to find the best I can for what I can afford and keep coming back to 2 made by Master. The only differences between them it would appear are that ne has a face hole & face cradle + arm sling @ £340 and the other has just the face cradle + sling @ £199; The endplates are slightly different and one is on ebay (with 2 years manufacturers warranty) whereas the other is on a company website ( with a 10 year warranty). I dont want just the price to be my guide and wondered what peoples experiences of face cradles / face holes were, whether either is preferable or it is useful to have both/ are there different situations when you would use either, has anyone had experience of Master couches? So many questions in my head but its a lot of money and I want to try and get it right. I want to use the couch for Reiki at the moment, but may also want it for massage in the future.

I was recommended to buy a couch with a face cradle and have never regretted it. The beauty of it is that it can be removed if not required, most clients find it actually more comfortable (some people find face holes claustrophobic) and it makes the couch slightly longer for taller people.

Also with a face hole, you then need to get couch covers with corresponding holes and when you turn the client over onto their back, their heads sink into the hole making it difficult to massage the back of their head.

My massage couch has both a face hole, and a separate face cradle. The face cradle is stored under the table, and if needed (usually by tall people only) it slots into the opposite end of the table to the face hole.

My table is from www.beautelle.co.uk, I think it is the Osbourne range. I am very happy with it; it is available in a wide selection of colours, it is height adjustable, and I also got the matching bolster, half bolster and face cushion(never used that one, waste of money!). Also a carry case, and option to have wheels on this (wish I had taken THAT option!)

I initially bought the bed with the hole in it and they provide the covers for it as well (obviously at an extra cost). However I found that the bed was sometimes that little bit too short and so invested in the face cradle as well and haven't regretted it and also found the add-on face cradle more comfy than the hole in the bed. You can get the whole package from abt £220 I think so not bad.

I have two couches...........a really gorgeous one that I purchased from R.E.M. It has wooden adjustable legs and inches of padding (and a face hole). The only drawback is that is it rather heavy but it is sooooooooo comfortable. It cost me £175.00 (including a canvas carry case) and I have never regretted it.

My other couch, which I leave in the car for mobile work, was purchased from Sally's and is metal framed (face hole too) and was £106.00 on one of their offers (with nice case). It is lightweight and easy to move around.

I spent hours crawling around ebay but on reflection they are far more expensive. Do remember than therapists get discounts and that makes a real difference.

hi,i own a master massage couch with the face cradle that is fixed.i would have prefered 1 with the face hole and plug for those clients who dont wish to use a face cradle.the arm sling is good,as yet i still need to get 1.they do come a bit wider than other couches,again for me i would prefer a narrow one,but client wise its helpful for larger people.my college uses marshcouch they do the face hole and extendable legs.my master coudch has extenable legs aswell so can be lowered for my friend to massage me and for large clients where i may need to lower it ,this was purchased at £195 a student special 1 and half yrs ago.it is very heavy and cant be transported.the lightest and best couch in my opinion is the starlite by oakworks but the price i think is£400 to £599?
