Hi. I am recently qualified and just starting out working from home.
Last week I met a man with special needs at a party and he was keen to come for a massage as he has a bad back. I had no problem as I have experience with people with special needs so am quite comfortable so I gave him my phone number. However, since then I spoke to someone who knew him professionally and strongly advised me to have his carer present as he can be very aggressive and has had sexual issues in the past. Obviously this does not necessarily mean there would be a problem but I don't feel I want to put myself in a position like that and I feel with my concerns I would not give as good a massage as I would like anyway.
My problem is: Now I have decided not to do the massage, what do I say to him when he calls? I really do not want to offend him or put him off massage as he could benefit from it. I just feel he needs to go to someone with more experience and possibly in a clinic environment.
