I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for this...I'm really trying to promote my chair massage business and a friend suggested that I send proposals out EVERYWHERE along with a brochure about chair massage in the workplace, etc.  I'd like to target automotive companies (I'm in Detroit so there's tons of them here!) and I'd like to get some input on this, if anyone has tried something like this and how their success was with it.

I bought some "Benefits of Onsite Chair Massage" brochures from massagewarehouse & I give them out. I have had some good luck with them. I did my homework,and let the prospective companies know what OTHER companies have utilized such services. Good luck!

You are right send it out every where I promise you will get a response. And also, The phone is your friend. After you have sent out all the information call some of the bussiness and just simple ask if you can set up your chair and the boss or manager can have a 10 min free and after that a certain amount for each one. I'm telling you it does work. Just act like you have a good clue you know what they need. And more than likely the answer will be sure when can you come.

Don't know if this helps or not, but the American Red Cross offers a "Protect Your Back" course.

I have taken it, and I'll be honest it is a really long day ( I took the 18 hour version - about $200   ).  However, it may give you another "in" into the motor companies.  You'd have to see if they let you take it or not, as I took it for continuing ed in a different field of work.

I found this site that gives a little more info on it (seems it is a 2 or 4 hour course there - about $30), you just have to scroll down the page a bit.
