Client with Thrombosis wanting Massage

Hello All
I have had a request for a massage from a man who has thrombosis. He has his INR count checked regularly and the condition is controlled by Warfarin. He has asked at his clinic whether he could have a full massage and they won't give an answer. He is going to ask again.

He wants a massage because he has a lot of tension in his neck and shoulders. I am very reluctant without a letter from a Doctor saying it's okay. What do other people think, please.

ooooooooooh, I remember from my Swedish massage days that massaging people with thrombosis was a huuuuuuuge no no...

I don't think you will be covered by your insurance if you massage him, specially without a letter from his Doctor?

You need the consent of the Dr to massage near to the area of the thrombosis but that does not stop you ding the rest of them

also do they currently have a clot or not....if not then I would treat (i do have a client on warfarin), i do slower more gentle treatments on him but take longer so he still gets the benefit.

if they still have the clot, gp permission and exercise caution.
