Hi There,
I have a new client thats recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. After the consultation with her, I carried out a 30 minute relaxation massage on her back using plenty of light to medium effleurage, and at the end of the massage I gave her some Reiki. After a couple of days I gave her a ring to see how she was, she said that she felt alot of benefit from both the treatments saying she felt more mobility around her neck and shoulders but was still in pain. I recommended that she continued with the massage weekly, and I will gradually build up the length of time between each of the treatments.
I am due to see her tomorrow, has anyone had experience treating someone with this same condidtion?, did you find you had good results with the client having massage? what treatment plan would you suggest in terms of length of time, massage pressure, oils used, etc...
I was thinking of doing a 45 minute massage this week doing her back and the back of legs, using professionally pre blended lavender and chamomile in almond oil, then week 3, her back, back of legs and arms, week 4....etc
I would be very grateful for any advice on this. Thank you
