I didn't know where to post this question.

I massaged a family member today. She felt fine before the massage. I did a lot of work on her traps because they were REALLY tight and knotty. I did full body as well. After the massage she said she felt great and that the massage was wonderful. 30 minuted later she was complaining of nausea. 20 minutes after that she was vomiting. It's been 2 hours and she's still vomiting.

Why did my massage make her so sick???

Most likely she was coming down with something, and the timing just coincided with the massage. My guess is you have now been exposed to some icky stomach bug. She could also have food poisoning. But I doubt the massage did it.

Flu/virus symptoms often come on very suddenly like that.

I just found out that she had a sore throat yesterday and felt like she was coming down with something. But she felt better today. I was taught in school that if someone is sick and gets a massage then the sickness hits them hard quickly after the massage but it won't last as long as it would have without the massage. Does that make sense?

Yep, that sounds about right, though some say the sickness will just be "worse", and some think it will have no effect. I'm thinking we're all different, so we could react differently.
