client allergic reaction to grape seed oil

I just found out that a client I massaged on Saturday rang the clinc to ask what oil I had used as she had had an allergic reaction. I normally use organic sunflower oil for my masages but I ran out and so used my colleagues grapeseed oil. This was a new client and I've never had anyone say they've had a reaction to the oil. This would have spoiled her masage experience and so I feel bad about it.

Has this happened to anyone else. I'm looking online to see what can be done about it. I don't know what symptoms she had but I'll call the clinic to see if she expalined how her skin was.

Note to self - make sure you don't run out your own oil.

i have been using grapeseed for the last 13 years and never had a problem, in fact i use it mostly for its allergy free status.

very strange situation and i would imagine very rare.

This is the first time that I've had this problem. However becasue I used another therapist's oil I can't be 100% sure if she had added something else to it.

I just called the clinic to find out what the lady had said. She mentioned that there's a south sea oil that she's allergic to. She found that she had rash on her back. Anyway her notes will be marked that she is allergic to grape seed oil. If/when she returns I may ask that she brings an oil with her that she is ok with.

I'm always careful when I know a client has a nut allergy as I used to use Sweet Almond oil.

I have a cousin who's allergic to absolutely anything related to grapes, so she can't use flower remedies (unless they're distilled in vodka rather than brandy) and she certainly can't use grape seed oil. Apparently it's not as rare as you'd imagine.
