Certificate in Massage

Hi is there any one out there doing just the certificate for massage?
I feel like i only know the "business side" of massage than actual problems and how to treat them. Just wondering what everyone else is doing.???

And my college is slack as, the towels are small and stained and the sheets have holes in them, so its very embarresing when you have clients coming in off the streets. The soap is watered down. And the paper towels to dry your hands are never there. Its disgusting.

Which course are you doing (qualification being studied for) and where? The depth of information varies from course to course and between tutors even... though many massage courses will not teach you how to treat specific health problems, as in massage we are not usually allowed to diagnose or claim to be able to 'cure' a problem... but treating specific injuries is something covered in Sports and remedial massage courses. You would usually need a basic qualification in massage before going on to study sports or other forms of massage.

Regarding the poor facilities at the college, well i would make a complaint to the head of that department about the condition of the facilities but that is all you could do really... if you are really dissatisfied then it might be worth looking into if you can get a refund and change to another course provider?

I am doing Level 3 Certificate in Swedish Massage, have finished all my assignments and assessments handed in my portfolio for marking (hopefully be signed off soon), the course has been great. What do you mean about the business side, we've done nothing but massage and learn about muscles.

Complain to the head of the department of your college, we had the same probs as you, and we now have new towels etc.

Im in Australia, im completeing this in Adelaide, its the certificate 4. Then i hope to do diploma some day. I have complained and nothing has been done. They have screwed with me again today... buts its too completed to explain. I think i will make a complaint to their massage association. And if i do my diploma it will be else where.!!
