carrier/massage oil question

Hi,
Can someone please point me in the right direction of a website which sells carrier oils that are definately absolutely 100% ok for people with nut allergies to use.

I have read mixed reviews all over about the different oils and they all contradict eachother.

Some websites dont even bother stating the uses of each oils.

So any help would be much appreciated.

What do you all use on your clients who have nut allergies or suspect an allergy?

Hi Sarah

I use www.purpleflame.co.uk (no connection, just a satisfied user). Their website gives a lot of detail on their carrier oils and also where they were sourced from. It's also run by proper people who answer when you phone them!

As far as nut allergies go, I tend to use jojoba, hemp or avocado, although this latter one can be questionable. Hemp is hemp seed oil, so may not be suitable for people with seed allergies.

I've not heard of anyone having an allergic reaction to jojoba.

I think a lot of sensitivities are due to over-exposure when the immune system is a bit confused by something else, can be fever, pregnancy, medications. Jojoba is relatively expensive, so people don't end up overexposed to it, so they don't end up with sensitivites to it. The other huge advantage with jojoba if you do your own washing, is because it is a wax rather than an oil, it comes out in the wash very easily (comapred to oils) and it doesn't go rancid, so your linen doesn't end up with the rancid oil smell. I find what I spend on jojoba is saved in not having to use expensive oil removing products. If you use a laundry service, there is no saving to you using jojoba.

Hi there.

For my clients with nut allergies I use Organic Sunflower oil from Aromatics. www.aromantic.co.uk

Grapeseed oil is also ok to use.

I use Tui massage wax, not oils. Lasts longer as you don't use much, no chance of spillage and it's easily absorbed by the skin.
