Hi all, I dont know if this is the best place for this one?? I want to learn more about treating cancer patients, particularly with massage and/or aromatherapy and wondered whether you can recommend some good books that are easy reading yet informative? Much appreciated, love hales xx

Hello Hales, you might want to check out the Bristol Cancer Centre. I know they run courses for therapists and you might find some good reading on their website. I don't know the address but you could just type in Bristol Cancer Centre in your browser. Good luck!

Hi, 'Massage for People with Cancer' A study by Patricia McNamara. Was the only one I could find when I started doing this. There is so little written, I think mainly because so many people believe 'massage spreads cancer' and don't want to stick their necks out.

I worked as a volunteer at two cancer support groups and learned a lot. There are also weekend courses you can go on. Where abouts are you?

I like 'subtle aromatherapy' by Patricia Davis this has some lovely ways of using oils in an almost homeopathic way....in that you use tiny amounts,and the smaller dilutions have greater effects. This book concentrates more on using oils to aid the psyche, and states of mind, very helpful in cancer patients.
