Bruising

Evening All,

Just wondering what your thoughts are on this -

I carried out a back massage on a relative yesterday. She has a lot of tightness one on side but she felt quite a bit of relief from the treatment. I didn't work too deeply on her as this is her first massage and I want her to come back for further treatments for maximum benefit.

I called her today to see how she was and she commented that her arm on that side has come out in lots of small bruises.

Any ideas on this????

Sorry Treacs - been busy elsewhere all day. I started to post a reply and lost it, so start again!

Don't know much about massage, but easy bruising is a warning, often indicative of lack of raw foods in the diet and vitamin C. Heavy smoking may not help either. It can also indicate other underlying problems, which if it persists should be looked into by the GP, (these include allergies, anaemia, and infections, right through to immune deficiency disorders, platelet malfunctioning, cancers, leukaemia). Not that I am suggesting that these may be the problem here, but just that if it recurs it should be investigated.

The answer is probably lack of vitamin C, and I'd suggest a good multivitamin/mineral plus at least 2000mg vit C with sprouted alfalfa as a source of vitamin K to help improve clotting and fish oils to improve cellular membranes. This along with the usual wholefood diet - lots of fruit and veg, limited red meat to reduce inflammation, avoiding sugar and hydrogenated and damaged fats (fried foods), etc.
