I went to the mentioned area. It is literally in the middle of nowhere and it is not more than one row of pink shops in the middle of some ruins. I took Metro line one to Wenshui Lu, then the bus for a couple of stations and the rest per pedes, with a map on my blackberry and AT's directions in mind. It took me around 90 minutes to get there from Puxi.

The whole are is not for the faint hearted. If I would not have a Chinese face that helps me to keep low profile, I wouldn't feel comfortable there. You will see a lot of poor people who look and smell like they have been buried in their suits two years ago and then raised from the dead.

After a long walk, I finally entered a dark alley that runs parallel to a bridge. All the other buildings of this block were broken down and only one row of shops are remaining. First thing on my mind was that his is how Berlin must have looked like in the Spring of 1945. However, the girls were surprisingly cute and some of them even hot. Regarding the looks, there is no difference to the sauna-girls I know.

The girl I chose was young (probably early twenties) and the queen of cute, dressed in black hot pants, with the face of an angel. Face/body 9/8. There is also one shop with girls dressed up as gothic lolitas, if this flows your boat.

She talked to me in her local dialect when I came in. Upon my answer "Wo bu ming bei ni schoa, sha ma"? she just answered: "make love?". I nodded and she took me to the back of the shop and asked for a hundred kuai. In the back of the shop were three boxes with cloth hangers and a 170x50cm mattress on it. I was already rock-hard when she started pulling down my pants, and she rolled on the condom immediately.

Maybe, maybe not. Each member's opinion about different cities is clouded by his own unique experiences in various destinations.

Most members of this forum are living & working, or staying temporarily in Shanghai. Most of us are NOT globetrotting sex tourists, rather laoweis looking to fulfil a need in our chosen temporary residence.

Absolutely. I am happy to provide the details in a timely manner to any member who asks, providing he has at least a modest (say, > 5) posting history to minimise the chance of inadvertently alerting LE.

I'm sure LE is fully aware of this place and probably doesn't care the odd laowei visits the street... but provided it's done with quietly, with respect and deference to the Chinese idea of face. I'd like to think that an LE visitor to this forum would appreciate I/we mean no disrespect and only wish to partake in the services on offer in a low-key and discreet manner.

Excellent report, Romeo. This paragraph (above) sums-up the scene perfectly. In other words, a few hot girls, a reasonable amount of cute or average girls, and a few below-par. It's the sheer number of shops all in direct competition (lowering the price) and the variety of girls that makes this location so good.

The whole area is seedy and I feel like a dirty old man to frequent the place. Definately back-to-basics, but well worth the trip for something a little different.

So, like everyone else, I'm also disappointed in the lack of mongering available these days. Seems like we used to dip our hands in the river, and those trout would slide right into your grip. Alas, like the crying indian tells us, this is no longer the case. The sexual environment here is under attack!

That's the intro to the screenplay I wanna write for Roland Emmerich's next film. Seriously though, I recently went to that BBS street in Northern Shanghai. Actually on my drive over, I noticed a random assortment of whack-shacks, but nothing that looked very interesting. When I arrived, I was quite excited. Reminds me of the 'ol Wuzhong Lu "village" as it was once named. Not as big, but more dense. About 10 or so BBSes, with a few nervous looking chinese guys walking about, and quite a bit of talent. I'd say half of these girls are cute, and a handful are hot. They've got all kinds, I'm sure people will find what they're looking for. FS costs 100, well worth it but keep in mind you get nothing else, I bet you can negotiate while inside if you want something slightly different.

So, I was astounded when I made it to the end of the street and saw a massive pair of balloons (must've been bigger than E cups) hanging out of a girl leaning over. I quickly go after what I want, and am taken back to a basic, almost jail-like room...I rather liked it. Off came some clothes and my god, i didn't think it was possible but they were bigger. Now I know what you're thinking..."she's fat, right?". Nope, that giant rack was on a reasonably cute, reasonably skinny girl. Needless to say my excitement made the session end a bit quickly, and of course she was happy about that, nice girl. I didn't get a chance to take a look at the other street nearby with sex products and dvds, maybe next time
