Barefoot Fijian Massage

Hello!
I am wondering what experience you all have had with Barefoot Fijian Massage. I am trying to coordinate a workshop here in Denver this fall with Lolita Knight (founder), and I would love any info or feedback anyone might have to offer about the technique.

Since Thai Massage & Swedish Massage are completely different, I imagine Fijian massage is quite different as well. Since you have no experience with it, you're actually "sure" of nothing.

Dawnray, I don't have experience with Fijian Massage, so I can't give you feedback, but I hope someone with actual experience will share with us.

Hi DR, I haven't actually trained in Fijian, but I've emailed back & forth w/Lolita quite a bit when she was trying to set up some classes in my town a couple years back. At that time she was also sending out a free demo DVD and based on watching that, it was quite different from barefoot Thai and Ashiatsu. (I don't know what barefoot swedish is.) The classes didn't pan out up here, but the technique looked like so much fun, and she was really interesting and enthusiastic. You could see from the DVD that she has a lot of skill. That's all I've got, sorry...never actually experienced the work.

I've been interested in this for a number of years, but haven't had the chance to travel for the classes.

I would also love to learn this to incorporate into the ashiatsu I've been doing... but I will not be able to travel to Denver this year. (as much as I would LOVE to!!)

Bliss, thanks for the clarification. I ordered the DVD to get a better idea of what the work encompasses. It seems that it is similar to Thai only in that the recipient is fully clothed. I will know more once I get to watch it! So excited!

BJB-LMP I have only seen a bit of someone Lolita trained so far, but it looked quite gracefull and lovely! That may attest to Lolitas skill that you mentioned.

And pueppi I wish you could travel to Denver if we get 'er up and rolling (the class)!!

Fijian Massage in Denver

I think you can get info from Lolita via her website as to any dates classes will be held here in the Denver area. I have been unable to complete the coordination of the class, but directed Lolita to the interested parties here.
