Authorities execute warrants at Fairfield County massage parlor as part of human trafficking investigation - 10TV

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Ohio — Authorities in Fairfield County executed search warrants at a massage parlor and the home of the parlor's owner on Monday as part of a human trafficking investigation.


The Fairfield County Sheriff's Office, in coordination with the Homeland Security Investigations Task Force, served a search warrant at Elegant Massage located at 3735 Old Columbus Road NW in Carroll.


According to the sheriff's office, the operation was initiated after an investigation into reports of illegal activities at the massage parlor, including suspected human trafficking, labor exploitation and other criminal offenses.


During the searches, the sheriff's office says deputies found evidence related to illicit operations, including financial records, electronic devices and other materials indicative of human trafficking.


Additionally, the sheriff's office says individuals were located within the business, some of whom are believed to be victims of trafficking. Authorities provided them with victim services and resources to ensure their safety and well-being.


"Human trafficking is a heinous crime that exploits vulnerable individuals for profit. Our office, along with our law enforcement partners, is dedicated to dismantling these illegal operations and ensuring justice for victims," Sheriff Alex Lape said.
