Just been chatting to a friend about the best oils for arthritis. We have a mutual friend who has been diagnosed with arthritis of the hands, wrists and elbows. She has had physio and said the best bit was the warm wax treatment.

Between us we couldnt agree on what we would use on oursleves if we had this condition and decided to ask what you would suggest?

I would try Chamomile, Juniper (if there is swelling) Lavender, Ginger, Marjoram, Geranium. I have a touch of arthritis in my neck and I have ginger in my blend its lovely

Oh yeah I have to agree about the hot wax. In fact, you've reminded me that I wanted to buy myself a hot wax heater from Ebay!

As to EO's, I agree with the ginger. If you don't have high blood pressure, Rosemary is good. If you have some spare money, Helichrysum helps as does Hyssop. Mustard oil is very warming too. It's not an essential oil, but one commonly used in Indian Head Massage.

I like the ginger, it would spice up any mix. Now we will have a go at getting her to try some, but she'd rather pop a pill!

We will put our heads together and do a blend as a gift for her.

I also agree with the ginger and rosemary blend, as they do compliment each other well - cinnamon leaf or clove bud (both in moderation) as a base
