Aromatherapy Music

Hi,

Can anybody please help. Does anybody know where I might be able to purchase aromatherapy music. New age stuff for relaxtion etc etc in the UK

They do quite a large range, some of my favourites are from their mind body and soul section and although I do Aromatherapy Massage, I love the Reiki titled one and the Shiatsu title. I quite like the Aromatherapy title too - but not quite as much.

ASDA have a good range which are very reasonable, you can also download some good stuff on line and also check out therapy fairs as have bought my favourite piece of music there.
Look at reiki and tai chi music too.

Remember if you're using it in a therapy setting, regardless of whether you are charging or if it's only friends, you have to get a Performing Rights Society license. This costs £59 per annum.

If, however like me, you're a tight git, then you can purchase rights-free music. I bought a 6 cd set from Cumara Music, and I have the satisfaction of knowing I gave the composer the money and not some faceless bureaucrat. www.cumaramusic.com.

I don't think the law covers providing hospitality to friends, but the difference is that a back massage doesn't come under what is normally called "hospitality"! The PRS are very officious people and will argue about angels and pinheads given half a chance.

Hi all

When I approached the PRS, I was informed that as I was a single therapist working from home and would only only be treating one client at any one time, I would not be required to purchase a PRS license.

Can anyone clarify this for me???

If you're playing it in the background with clients rather than friends then you need a PRS license unless you are using royalty free music or music that you have written permission from the copyright owner to say that you have their permission to use it. I'm surprised someone at PRS told you that you didn't need a license, unless I've missed something then they have advised you incorrectly which is unusual for them to advise you incorrectly not in their favour (they have a reputation for being a pain in the backside usually).

Here's a tip: never massage a member of PRS staff. Then you shouldn't have a problem.
