Aromatherapy in pregnant women/ child birth/ midwives? has any1 been doing this

or had it? I am doing a course in Aromatherapy in midwives/ pregnant women/ childbirth etc. I was wondering whether anybody has had this offered to them whilst they were pregnant if so what happened etc, or if the midwife gave this to them and used it etc or any midwives who has taken the course and could give me some detail as its for an assignment and would like to get some backround into it? When I was pregnant with my daughter I seen a show on pregnancy and midwives. They had mentioned aromatherapy. I then took my search to the internet to find out more details like how different scents could help you relax/ease nausea/etc. Since I was having really bad nausea I followed the advice on the site and it really did seem to help. Didn't cure me by any means, but I found it made it less.

What I did was I went and purchased the pure essential oils from a health food store, purchased an aroma lamp with tea candles, placed the water in the top and put a couple drops of the oil in. Worked like a charm. If I would of known something like this existed in the first place, I probably would of done it right from the beginning as opposed to 6 months into the pregnancy.
