Aromatherapy Courses - Distant learning

I wondered if anyone has any information on distant learning courses in Aromatherapy.

I am a complementary Therapist and have been for the past 14 years working almost full time.

I would love to now do an aromatherapy course via a distant learning method as time is of the essence at the moment. I am currently with the FHT but courses via distant learning aren't covered within their insurance (I am thinjing of going elsewhere so any suggestions please!).

Has anyone had any experience with www.naturalhealthcourses.com and also if I did a distant course I would need insurance - any ideas on companies?

I look forward to hearing any advice.

Do you do massage as part of your practise? If so, I'd recommend the Penny Price courses. They're not strictly completely "distance" as there are weekend courses where you do an intensive practical, but they are very good.

sorry but I haven't heard of the course providers you mention.

It may be an idea to contact the IFA and find out what accredited courses are available.

I know there are courses with facilities for part distance learning for example Nicole Perez runs a course.

Also take a look at the IFPA they will also have lists of courses.

Hi Nic,
naturalhealthcourses are School of Natural Health Sciences, and have been the subject of many discussions on here.

I have a full set of aromatherapy 'lessons' from said school, and to be honest, there is more information in a good aromatherapy book, at a fraction of the price.

FHT do not cover these courses for a reason.

I trained in aromatherapy almost 2 decades ago, and I found out the hard way that essential oils can cause a lot of damage to the skin if they are used incorrectly (thankfully it was only me that was damaged when studying, and not a client), so it is essential (no pun intended), to find a good accredited school.

Aromatherapy is a wonderful therapy, so I wish you all the best in finding a suitable course.
