aromatherapy and smoking

I had my first client asking for help with quitting smoking. as I don't offer hypnotherapy I had not thought about offering any treatment for nicotine addiction.

I wondered if any other holistic therapist had been asked about nicotine withdrawal or addiction and if you have any good tips and ideas.

i use clary sage as it is helpful in addictions,i think cs of its hypnotic qualities,also if you do some research you should find ciggies contain essential oils,thyme,oregano,basil and loads of others......if i remember rightly they seem to be the oils most associated with the mind,obviously adding to the addiction. Ifound this out years ago and saw some research,had it stored on my pc but lost it. boo!!

Hi,
I've found Bergamot to be very helpful with addictions.
I was interested to hear that, prior to his firsttreatment withme, a heroin addict I worked with was very much drawn to earl grey tea - which, of course, has that bergamot aroma.

Hiya,

I havn't had cause to treat nicotine addiction butI intuitively feel that Clary Sage could help. To me it has a smell of cigarette ash, might be worth a try, and it is a relaxant.
