Aromatherapy and crystals

I'm not sure whether to post this here or on the crystals page! I was wondering whether there are any known connections between using crystals and the essential oils that may complement them?

It occurred to me that the sense of smell is a great one, and if used in conjunction with the power of crystals it could be used to significantly enhance the use of both to great effect.

Is there any literature / information on this subject that anyone knows of, particularly in terms of which oils work with which crystals? For example I have placed a large piece of amethyst in my bedroom to help with insomnia, and thought (instinctively) that lavender would probably complement it very well, although I'm not sure and would really like to know.

I'll put a copy of this on the crystal pages as well and compare the answers - could be interesting!

Check out Patricia Davis book Subtle Aromatherapy (pulished by the C.W. Daniel Company Limited- she's written a chapter on crystals and essential oils linking them with the Chakras (colour). eg Rose Quartz with Rose absolute relating to the Heart Chakra -
