anyone know about taking eo as a medicine

I recently bought a product for stress/anxiety from the US called Purecalm which seem to be very effective
you add 10 drops to water and I realised that the ingredients are lemon balm , lavendar and passiflora
I was wondering if anyone knew where to get similar products in the UK

I can't find anything similar here so as its proving effective I will keep buying from USA until something else turn up unless anyone know how to mix a dose of the ingredients for ingestion

Looking at some websites, I don't think Purecalm is essential oils - it's a herbal tincture (which does contain essential oils as part of the componets of the herbs, but it's not made from essential oils). I'd suggest you ask this question int one of the other board areas (naturopathy?)

I live in the US and I work at a pharmacy. I am not a pharmisict or a tech,although I do work up front and have regular interaction with the pharmacists on duty. There is a product that is in the vitiam and herbal section of our store called Valarium Root,it is for stress and anxiety. The pharmisict said it is more or less a herbal valium. I know it sells for $7.00 in US dollars. Maybe you can find it available where you are located locally,if not you might be able to order it online and hopefully save on the price diffrence from the other if there is a diffrence. I hope this info will help you,and we sell alot of this product so it must do something for those folks who purchase it.

Asa trainee aromatherapist we are always told never to ingest essential oils, what you have is probably a herbal tincture, whichis very different to just adding a few drops of the oils it contains to a glass of water!
