Anyone had a Reflexology treatment?

I just wondered what your experiences were? And what you went for? Also, did you lie on a table or sit in a chair?

I'm thinking of going for a treatment but was interested in people's individual experiences.

I have had it many times. It is very relaxing. You will enjoy it.

As far as bringing real improvement---- It's hard to say. I also take supplements and do many other alternative treatments so any improvement could come from any single one of those things.

The theoretical basis for reflexology is nonsense and there is no evidence of efficacy to support it. So its basically a placebo treatment. Its entirely up to you if you want to spend money on it.

Yep, I go for Reflexology every 3-4 weeks or so for a "tune up" session. I go more frequently if I'm under a greater stress load, in pain, or feel like I'm coming down with something. I've sat in recliners and chairs and laid on bodywork tables for my sessions. Personally I prefer the recliner - the tables make my sciatic nerve get pretty "active" when I have to lie flat on my back for an hour.

Sometimes I sleep during a session, other times I'm real chatty and like I have a lot of energy to expend during the session. I almost always feel a bit floaty after the treatment and want to take a nap or just chill out. Some of my clients feel energized after their session.
