any one else had this, help!

Hi All
Just wanted to share this as I am finding it very incrediable and also painful!!!
I am always a little sensitive to peoples energies when doing reflexology (worse when pregnant) but I am usually ok unless I am working with someone who is quite traumatised or ill.....(however I do not claim to have any healing powers etc or be able to pick up on peoples energies).

Anyhow last night I had a client who has been very traumatised in her life (loss of twins late in pregnancy, widowed early in life although now happily married again but has also had major kidney problems, she has had over 17 stones removed via 3 operations, the entrance to her kidney widened and some parts of her kidney removed - phyloplasty and also had her tubes widened - she is continuing to have kidney problems) after about after 1 hour seeing her my lower back was in extreme pain in another thirty minutes i was finding it difficult to move about and my temperature shot to 38.9c (i normally hover just below 36c), called nhs direct and they advised calling emergency gp only to find i have developed a kidney infection.

I have never had one before - I called my client today, she was full of energy and was painfree she was having the most active day she has had in ages!!!!!!

Anyone any thoughts on this.......very spooky and painful for me though!

You have to concentrate on some energy protection exercies both before and after treating clients. I don't know if you do these, but visualisation often helps.

Imagine yourself in a black cloak or a glass box before the client comes in the room, as there is only so much you can give. There are lots of other routines, it's just what works for you.

After the treatment, wash your hands well in cold water.

firstly love the new name, suits you just fine, I do try and ground, white shoes, white light etc is just if things are quite bad in people it doesnt seem to work.....had anything like this yourself, just wondering if i am going mad!

my first feeling was that this was a co-incidence then I read your post again Tigerbee

the message that I received was that this patient has triggered something that was already inside you, I asked why? and my guide told me that it is a past life connection.

E.g. your own kidney infection has a past life connection and this lady triggered it. You would need to do a past life healing to find out more, hmm...multi-dimensionally there may be a very important reason that this infection is happening now! The past life will reveal a great deal more then you are currently aware of or looking at.

You definately appear to need more protection.
Are you trained in Reiki or Spiritual Healing? If you aren't then I would be tempted to say for you to do a Reiki 1 course (Just to teach you to draw Universal Energy in - rather than using your own energy). A good teacher will also teach you ways to protect yourself. We can all draw on Universal Energy but often it's much easier to do this after being attuned.

My husband has been healing since he was 8 - he was much bigger than boys of his own age & he knew he could take their pain away. You can do this for years but he was advised by an excellent Spiritual Healer that he should do Reiki 1 - rather than follow the 2 yr Spiritual healing course - as he needed to carry on healing but it was also a way of channelling Universal Energy rather than often using his own energy. He hasn't looked back since he was attuned - it was the best advice he has ever had.

One thing - if you do decide to do reiki 1 - find someone who you have a rapport with NOT someone who wears their Reiki Master certificate like a badge proclaiming they are wonderful. - I'm sure you've all met them!
Find someone who is in it for the right reasons - to help others. Ask around & go with someone who you feel is right for you. [sm=soapbox.gif] Don't let anyone force you into doing it with them - unfortunately some Reiki Masters (usually the badge type) tend to be the ones who try & force you to do their course. Go with your gut feeling on this.

Protection - something that works for me, might help you.
Imagine you are in a very flexible perspex tube, open to the heavens - so you can fill it with white light, it flows down to the molten core of the earth - so you can ground yourself. You can make it as wide as you like. It can flow around other people with you inside. It's so flexible that you can reach out to touch someone & it flows around your hand - keeping a thin barrier between you so you can't get any negative energy back. It is however semi permeable so you can send your healing energy or universal energy out. If you want to draw off negative energy from someone then either imagine the negativity being burned up in a purple flame or flowing easily down the side of your perspex tube into the earths molten core. Try it it might help.

It sounds to me as if you have a real gift for healing but it really seems that you need more protection. [sm=hippy.gif] I hope you've already thought of asking your guides to help protect you.

Freeflowing protection I like that as opposed to just covering yourself if you know what I mean, I have never done anything with guides but I do feel especially in the last few months that I am being taken on a path rather than choosing a path.....so I do need to do something but there is so much information out there it is difficult to know where to start..............

I have experienced this, although not a extreme case as yours, whenever i would do hands on healing i would come away with the complaint! Headache, sore arm, leg, back etc.

I beleive it came about because I was over emphasing with the person and using my own energy to heal with, not universal. Barabara Brennan mentions something about this in one of healing wookbooks.

Anyway, I ended up stopping for a while and eventually became attuned to reiki and worked with crystals. Also I spent a long time (two years) learning how to ground myself properly.

All of these things helped me and I am now careful not to have any reguard for the outcome or take resposibility for it (the healing outcome) in anyway as I found this would hook me in to the persons problems and I would end up wearing them! Literally at the end of the session and the person would feel fine!

We have met many people over the years with the same problem as you both have had. Often they are some of the best healers around - they really want to help people & give them all their energy. You can do this for a while but then you get drained yourself. That's what Carl was doing - using his own energy - he had a lot so he was OK for many years.
Since doing Reiki he actually feels better after a healing than he did before. Universal energy is wonderful, remember it's the Universal Energy that you are channelling that is doing the work, it'll flow where it's needed you are just a conduit. You also get a charge of it when you are channelling so it makes you feel good.
The protection part - I'm all for free flowing protection. Why would you want to enclose yourself in a skin tight suit? Doesn't do a lot for your aura & energy field being enclosed like that. It might work for some but to me it just doesn't feel right unless I'm in a room full of negative energy I hate to shut down like this.
Another tip - if you are in a room with people who drain your energy, put up your shields of protection & then draw down universal energy & imagine you are giving them so much energy with love. You'll be surprised at how quickly that works. Energy vampires somehow hate being given energy & they will stop taking if it is given freely.

I reckon I know a couple of energy vampires but always get sucked in, literally.
I like this idea of giving the energy freely, I am going to try this, although I must admit that one 'vampire' in particular always manages to 'get' me. Its my mother! Isn't that horrible, to say that about your mother, but really, I have a huge problem with how she connects to me,
Got any more tips on how to deal/cope with related vamps?!

Isn't it always the case I'm just sitting her looking at a tape I bought. EMOTIONAL BLACKMAIL 'When the People in your Life use Fear, Obligation & Guilt to Manipulate you' BY Dr Susan Forward & Donna Frazier. There is also a book by the same 'TOXIC PARENTS - heard that is quite good.
Parents aways know what strings to pull to yank our chains. Don't you just hate it when you're always treated like a little girl or a rebellious teenager (at 40! LOL)
Try protecting yourself & also giving out love. Try & see the funny side of things also & maybe get the book for a few tips.
We have a show in Oswestry this weekend that I'm getting stuff ready for, so brief - there are many answers but I think maybe the book Toxic Parents might be a good place to start. Try Amazon or see if Speaking Tree in Glastonbury have it - their books are at amazing prices which is unusual for books on health & selfcare genre. I just looked on Speaking Tree & they don't appear to have it but it's a useful address to have.

I find the advice given by the spiritual healer a little odd. With spiritual healing you can still practice healing. You are fully insured to practice healing from the moment you become a probationer spiritual healer. Also, all your husband needed to have done, was ask that universal energy be channelled and not his own, it's as simple as that. Some people like to over complicate these matters. Sorry, but I just felt I needed to clarify what you'd written - the advice your husband was given doesn't make any sense to me. I'm glad it has helped him though!

Linda is right, the Reiki acts as a protection to you the reiki channel from other people's energies and ills. I would be happy to recommend the Reiki master who attuned me to Reiki I. She gives people who are interested in taking courses a taster session and that of course gives you an opportunity to see if she's the right teacher for you. That's a very important point, you have to feel happy and comfortable with that person. whatever you decide to do, I hope you find the protection you need. Have you tried putting on the blue cloak of the Archangel Michael?

First, you did the right thing contacting your GP, you must get the infection cleared up as soon as possible. Second of all I agree with Parkinson, empathy is a very strong emotion. I can only say of a recent experience of mine where I over empathised with a friend of mine who is pregnant and then got a twitch in the places where her baby was kicking. Then I got her craving for pineapple juice!! I only hope with all my heart that I don't get her labour pains as well!!
I also knew of a girl once, she lived in a block of flats with a woman who had (yet another twitch) a tic in her face, Cheryl felt so sorry for this lady, then one morning woke up with the exact same tic herself.
I know if I have to go into hospital people tend to sap my energy and I sleep from the moment I get in there till the moment I leave, but I don't take on their ailments (thank heavens) But thats energy vampirism, sorry going off on a tangent there.
It seems to me that you care so much for people.. in many ways this is such a great thing, but an idea might (as aromababe, and auraphoto says) to surround yourself with positive energy (as illness projects negative energy), thereby stopping any negativity getting through, thusby not taking on the ailments of others.

It's a sign that you're exceptionally well attuned for healing. However all that do healing work must work on themselves, as the first priority. How can we help others if we are a wreck ourselves - kind of thang? And if with babe then It's especially important.

A typical western type misinterpretation of your regular Christian dogma is that you put others before yourself. Reality is is treat others, as thy self, no better, no worse, as there is no difference, except that some of us get carried away & is there someone supporting us if we get a bit peely wally?

My personal preferance is meditating twice a day & regularly trading treatment with certain therapists that I feel most comfortable with.

The advice he was given by the spiritual Healer was right for him. He was using his own energy most of the time although he was using Universal energy too. It wasn't the insurance he was after, he needed to be able to link into Universal Energy more efficiently and also to protect himself better as he was getting drained.



There is little difference between Reiki & Spiritual healing if they are both done for the same reason. - To help others rather than for profit. The difference is that Reiki is a quick way to always connect with Universal energy (learnt in a weekend rather than over 2 years) & the spiritual healer could tell that he needed to connect with Universal Energy (The Source) as a matter of urgency. Also she was aware that he needed to be able to do his own thing rather than have a supervisor there when he did healing - as many Spiritual Healer trainees are only allowed to practice when there is a supervisor present.

There is no right or wrong way to connect with Universal Energy. Reiki is just a faster method of learning how to connect. Our Reiki Master has actually attuned quite a few qualified spiritual healers too & they say that the 2 methods combined are very complimentary & in fact make their treatments more effective. Then again he did train as a spiritual healer himself & he does have a wonderful gift for healing - maybe that should read that he has a very strong connection & is an open channel for the Source or Universal energy.

Please don't think that I am in any way saying that Reiki is better than Spiritual Healing. As long as the right intention is there, there is good in any form of healing.

I feel that many Spiritual Healers sometimes get the wrong impression of Reiki, maybe because there are too many Reiki masters on an ego trip who sometimes are only in it for the money. That's why I can't emphasise enough to be careful when you choose your Reiki Master. (Carl's 1st Reiki Master was a Buddist Monk for 8 years. His 2nd Reiki Master is the one I mentioned above, a gifted Medium & a very humble man).
