Well, if I meet a new masseuse, whom I enjoyed, how would I share this information? Only privately? Is it wrong to say I just had a great massage with Ling at Shanghai Massage Studio and left Happy.
No it is not wrong to say "I just had a great massage with Ling at Shanghai Massage studio and I left happy" in fact that is how it should be said. And it is not wrong to say that Shanghai Massage Studio is a great place and Ling is a great therapist followed by a link to one of their advertisements say on Kijiji or Leolist
What is inappropriate and possibly consequential to all is to share too much detail that are personal in nature with respect to the provider (the worst being handing out private phone numbers and residential addresses publicly with or with out permission of the provider) and sharing details of the services provided (the worst is being graphic when discussing it).
What is shared privately is not of concern here.
Jun/Rose had a bad time on CAF as she asked for no one to review her. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen Posts were graphic.
That is exactly to my point when I speak of using common sense and discretion. Jun/Rose somehow found out about it. She felt disrespected and humiliated. The consequences are evident.
It is crucial to realize and understand that
this is a public thread and forum meaning that just about anyone is able to see and read what is said which again can include the provider, the businesses, her boss, her coworkers, and even her friends.
It is crucial to realize that providers are people too, no different from ourselves. They have a life outside of the work. They have families (Kids, husbands, parents, relatives, love ones, friends, etc.) and have community involvements which has nothing to do with their line of work, their life has nothing to do with their line of work. They need to deal with their coworkers and bosses as well.
We need to be pay careful attention to that and beware of that and watch we say publicly.
From my current experience, the masseuses and businesses appreciate reviews. However, the census is not to add any graphic details. For me , that’s common sense. Where I lack common sense, apparently is letting folks here know the names of safe and decent masseuses and where they work, unless they wish me not to.
Yes businesses do appreciate reviews specially good reviews as it generates more income for them. However what they appreciate would be something like "I just had a great massage with Ling at Shanghai Massage studio and I left happy" or "Shanghai Massage Studio is a great place and Ling is a great therapist followed by a link to one of their advertisements say on Kijiji or Leolist" No more and no less. They don't appreciate inappropriate comments jeopardizing them in any way. Certain details can be shared privately at your own discretion. So no you don't lack common sense by telling folks the names of safe providers and the name of there place of business.
Never ever share anything ( as in not a word) about a provider if she asks you not to (that's obvious or not obvious incase of Jun/CAF)
Control is an illusion and attempting to control what people say or do is futile, one can hope that folks understand and practice etiquettes!
Sadly over the last decade and particularly after Covid our society has been in downward spiral and in a state of degradation of values, and lose of discretion and common sense., consequently and regretfully we can expect "carnage"
