Adapting massage for body types??

Please can someone help with the answer for the below.

So far i have a bit about tension on a larger perons and to be careful with pressure on a thinner person.

Describe how massage may need to be adapted for a client with the following types:
Ectomorph.
Endomorph.

Your help is appreciated x

I found this interesting, because exactly the opposite has been true throughout my career.

It is is the skinnyclients who can take, and prefer, a great dealmore pressure and the larger clients (whether it's muscule or fat) who need much less pressure for comfort. I also find that it is by far the women who beg for, and enjoy, trigger point therapy and the men, without exception, who complain the most about that technique, even when they know how much it helps them. Football players and bodybuilders are typically not as "tough" as tiny women.

Don't let size fool you--ask each client how much pressure they find comfortable as you work, and keep in mind that everyone will have individual sensitive spots, no matter how they are built. You should be customizing each massage session to meet the specific needs and desired goals of the person on the table, anyway.

I agree with practicemetta - do not automatically assume that the larger the person the firmer the pressure! I too have found quite the opposite to be the case! [sm=1syellow1.gif]

I prefer to massage people with more meat on their bones as it does make the manipulation easier but I always make a point of asking them both before the massage starts (it's a question on my consultation form) and also after the first couple of minutes of moves.

As a larger lady visiting another therapist for an Indian Head Massage, she massaged between my shoulder blades so hard I had to ask her to stop - it hurt that much! The next day I struggled to move my arms! [sm=fit.gif]

Building up a relationship between therapist and client is key and making notes on the consultation form to help when trying to remember the last treatment!
