"Acu-tape" anyone?

I just found a book in the local bookstore regarding Acu tape technique. Anyone else see this book and type of therapy?.. It involves tapeing (elastic athletic tape) along the meridian lines of the body. The authors say it relieves all types of conditions and ailments rergarding muscular, and joint pain.

Like kinesio taping? If its the same thing then it is way cool stuff. One of my teachers in school turned me on to it for my neck. She works with a lot of pro swimmers and they use it a lot too because the tape will stay on your body for days and is water proof. I showered with my tape and everything and had it on for about 5 days.

The tape is this super sticky, super elastic stuff that comes in different colors to correspond to the different meridians and such. There are also specific ways to apply it to certain injuries, so its not like a typical wrap. What it does is it lifts the skin away from the fascia and muscle enough to get extra lymph and blood flow to the area providing quicker healing times and less bruising. My instructor had an experience with herself falling down some stairs at her house and landing the inside of her knee on a tile floor. She taped herself up straight away and never had any kind of bruising.
