absolute oils

hi, am i right by thinking that absolute essential oils are not very good to use in aromatherapy massage or with base creams and lotions, its just one supplier said that he has never hear of an aromatherapist not using this in massage, so i wanted to know what you all thought about this.

absolutes are distilled differently, which sometimes means the chemical make up of the essential oil has been adulterated or changed, therefore the properties of the oil are also different, so some aromatherapists would obviously choose not to use them for this reason. They can however be stronger than alternatives. Also other chemicals can be left behind in the oil, such as alcohol. (sometimes allergic reactions could happen - but they could with oils anyway)

I think it comes down to individual choice at the end of the day.....essential oils which have been steam distilled such as Jasmine would be very expensive, whereas the absolute version might be cheaper...just because of the different way it has been distilled
